More background information
Thank you for this wonderful contribution, and sharing some of your family history. During my recent trip in Maroc, I also visited Salé. And one person told me of a Dutch
Man, called Murat Reis, which I never had heard before. Once back in Holland I learned more about Jan Janszoon / Murat Reis. Started with Google and Wikipedia. So glad I found this document, giving me more background information. If possible, I would like to get in touch.

Anthony Van Salee was my 10th great grandfather. I downloaded my FTDNA (family tree DNA) raw data to my computer and sent the file to GEDmatch.com. I did several tests on GEDmatch. The results of my GEDmatch Eurogenes EU V2 K15 Oracle test both my maternal and paternal:
I descend from Anthony on my mother's side and I am Polish/Gypsy on my father's side.
